Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and is often called the "Red Planet" because of its reddish color. It is similar to Earth in some ways, with mountains, valleys, and ice caps, but it is much colder and has little air. Mars has two small moons, Phobos and Deimos. Scientists are very interested in Mars because they believe it may have once had water, and they hope to learn more about its past. Many space missions have been sent to explore Mars, and someday, humans may visit the planet.
